Earigator

Every day, our world gets noisier, and the noises on our city streets are becoming dangerous to our hearing health.

Many of the sounds you are exposed to every day can harm your hearing and trigger tinnitus, which is the irritating buzzing or high-pitched ringing sound in your ears. You'll find it challenging to keep up with conversations and spend time with friends and family.

Hearing damage caused by noise is permanent, and you cannot get it back once you've lost your hearing. The good news is that this is preventable, but you need to start by understanding how sound is measured.

How loud is too loud?

Every day, our world gets noisier, and the noises on our city streets are becoming dangerous to our hearing health. Many of the sounds you are exposed to every day can harm your hearing and trigger tinnitus, which is the irritating buzzing or high-pitched ringing sound in your ears. You'll find it challenging to keep up with conversations and spend time with friends and family.

Hearing damage caused by noise is permanent, and you cannot get it back once you've lost your hearing. The good news is that this is preventable, but you need to start by understanding how sound is measured.

Who is at risk of noise-induced hearing loss?

A gunshot's noise level far exceeds the noise levels at which permanent hearing damage will occur, even from a single shot. Exposure to noise above 140 dB may lead to permanent damage to your hearing, and almost all guns make sounds above 140-dB. A small, 22-caliber rifle can generate approximately 140 dB of noise, whereas large rifles and handguns can emit over 175 dB. Although a shot can potentially lead to immediate listening loss, you'll likely sustain this damage over a more extended period.

Why go custom-fit?

Here are some of the critical advantages of custom hearing protection over the earplugs you get from the drug store:

  • Better performance: They offer better protection than standard earplugs.
  • More secure: They are built for your ear only so that they won't fall out easily.
  • More accurate sound: You hear everything you need but at a much lower volume.
  • More comfortable: They can be worn for long periods.
  • Customizable protection: You can pick the amount of protection you need and the kinds of sounds you need to let in.
